Toothbrushes

Our manual toothbrushes are made from FSC-certified beechwood, a fast-growing, sustainably managed hardwood. The handle is fully compostable at end of life. The bristles are BPA-free nylon, which is the most effective material currently available for thorough, gentle cleaning. We chose beechwood over bamboo for its durability and its suitability for the UK climate — it's grown in Europe, which also means a shorter supply chain.

A sonic toothbrush uses high-frequency vibrations, our model delivers up to 50,000 strokes per minute, to break down plaque and drive fluid between teeth and along the gumline. That's significantly more movement than a standard oscillating electric brush. The result is a more thorough clean, particularly in hard-to-reach areas. Our sonic brush also features five brushing modes and a built-in two-minute timer to help you brush for the right length of time.

Yes. We offer both a kids manual toothbrush in beechwood, sized for smaller mouths, and a kids sonic toothbrush set with gentle vibrations and a two-minute timer to build good brushing habits early. Both are designed with the same material standards as our adult range, no BPA, no unnecessary plastic.

Dental professionals generally recommend replacing your toothbrush or brush head every three months, or sooner if the bristles are visibly worn. With our beechwood brushes, the old handle can go into your compost bin. For our sonic toothbrushes, replacement heads are available separately and are designed to click in and out easily.

It goes beyond packaging. Our manual brushes use a compostable handle from sustainably managed forests. Our sonic brushes are built to last, rechargeable, repairable, with replaceable heads so you're not discarding the entire unit every few months. We won't pretend any toothbrush is 100% zero-impact, but every material and design decision is made to reduce waste where it actually matters, not just where it's visible.
