BIONYLON FLOSS
Our first floss is crafted from castor oil, is infused with Spearmint Essential Oil and consists of bio-based polymers (PA1010). PA1010, a type of bio-based nylon, is produced from castor oil, offering a biodegradable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional floss materials, which typically contain fossil-based polymers. This innovative material is created through the polymerization of bio-based monomers derived from renewable sources such as biomass, agricultural feedstocks, or organic waste. The resulting polymer boasts a high biomass content, significantly reducing its carbon footprint compared to conventional polyamides. (1), (2), (3)
Floss made from PA1010 features a translucent appearance and is praised for its gentle cleaning properties. Additionally, the inclusion of candelilla and peppermint oil ensures that the floss is moisturizing and soothing to the gums, enhancing the overall flossing experience. (4)
