The ingredients we use

In the following blog we will discuss the main active ingredients we use in our products to provide you the cleanest formulas. You will see that we use few ingredients, but all are totally natural, non-toxic and directly benefiting your oral hygiene. Plus, the ingredients we use are all vegan, cruelty-free and most of the time organic! Let's delve into the specifics of some key essential oils and other natural components that elevate oral health care to new heights.

Essential Oils

We use natural essential oils to flavour our products. These are extracted through natural extraction methods such as steam distillation or cold pressing. Purchasing our essential oils from COSMOS certified suppliers ensures our products are free from synthetic flavourings.

Additionally, many of the Essential Oils we use have their own unique properties such as being antibacterial or anti-viral!

Peppermint (Mentha Piperita Oil)

Peppermint Essential Oil, has a characteristic fresh and 'head-clearing' scent. It can be inhaled from a tissue boosting concentration, or to quell motion sickness and aid digestion. It’s also an effective antispasmodic. It has cooling and numbing properties that can effectively soothe toothache. It is an antibacterial so it can kill bacteria in the mouth, as such it is a great way to fight off cavities and gum disease. The fresh smell and taste make it the ideal ingredient for toothpaste and so does its antiseptic and antiviral properties.

Spearmint (Mentha Spicata Herb Oil)

This essential oil has a warm, rounded, minty scent. It has a milder flavour and smell than Peppermint, so works well for children and those who prefer a milder taste. It's also a natural antiseptic and is often used in room sprays against cold and flu, clearing the head and aiding concentration. It has been noted to fight off food-borne bacteria such as E.coli.

Oils and butter

Coconut oil (Cocos Nucifera Oil)

Renowned for its powerful antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory qualities, coconut oil proves invaluable in combatting oral bacteria and tackling bad breath, all while promoting gum health. Furthermore, it is utilised in the traditional Ayurvedic practice of oil pulling, long acknowledged for its effectiveness in reducing plaque and gum inflammation. We use coconut oil as the base for our toothpaste because we do not use any water in our toothpaste and it’s an active ingredient.
