Oral care is more than just brushing your teeth

Oral care is more than just brushing your teeth

In our series of blogs about telling you lovely folks about the benefits of our products we have discussed toothpaste options, toothbrushes and which bristles to use and oil pulling mouthwash already but what about the rest of your oral care routine?

In this blog we will be discussing the benefits of flossing (not the dance), dental supplements and chewing gum!

Flossing

You should floss regularly as it plays a crucial role in looking after your oral health. Flossing prevents the buildup of plaque between your teeth and along your gum line which are difficult areas to reach with a toothbrush. Flossing the plaque from your teeth is important, if the plaque is left to build this would increase your risk of tooth decay and gum disease. Also, when food gets stuck between your teeth it starts to decay (ewww, you don’t want that in your mouth) and the decaying food can give you bad breath.

Our floss currently comes in 3 flavours, spearmint, orange and activated charcoal. We use natural essential oils to flavour our floss for a soothing floss and added antibacterial properties. Our floss is also vegan and sustainable as it’s made out of a corn-based pla so you can put it in your compost bin after use.

Dental Supplements

Dental supplements are formulated to promote strong and healthy teeth and gums. Our dental supplements boost the vitamin & mineral levels of Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Iron, Copper, Zinc, Manganese and Vitamins A, C, D, DC, E, K2.

Dental supplements ensure your teeth are getting all they need to stay strong and remineralised from within, by supporting our body's natural remineralisation process. This promotes long term oral health and prevents nutrition-deficiency related conditions, such as tooth decay, lining inflammation and enamel hypoplasia. So if you’d like/need a bit more protection these are perfect for an added boost.

Chewing Gum

Chewing gum isn’t just for freshening your breath, did you know that chewing gum removes food particles and bacteria from your mouth, which causes bad breath and tooth decay. The act of chewing gum produces saliva to wash out the mouth and wash away bacteria, protecting teeth from bacterial acid causing decay.

Studies have also shown that chewing gum can reduce stress and increase concentration, take some with you to work and you’ll be good to go!

Our chewing gum is made from Chicle & Arabic Gum from the Sapodilla & Acacia Trees. Like all of our products, it is flavoured with all natural ingredients and contains Peppermint oil and Xylitol (a natural sweetener).
