Unlike synthetic flavourings, these oils are not only less harmful when ingested they also have their own unique healing properties too.
What is an essential oil?
An essential oil is a completely natural, concentrated liquid, derived from parts of a variety of different plants using steam distillation or extraction. This includes the flowers, leaves, bark, roots, resin or peel. All the oils we use are Soil Association Organic which this means that they are free from harmful toxins - better for the body and for the environment.
Because of their molecular structure, essential oils evaporate completely leaving no residue behind them. This which also means they pass straight through the body leaving only their beneficial properties behind.
What are their uses?
The distillation process results in the concentration of all the powerful healing compounds of a plant into a single oil. Just one small drop of an essential oil can have a powerful effect.
Essential oils have been used for thousands and thousands of years in cultures across the world for medicinal and health purposes. Often used in Ayurveda, aromatherapy and alternative medicine - essential oils can be smelt, massaged, bathed in and ingested. Many have healing properties including being a natural antiseptic and antiviral, inducing relaxation, helping with anxiety and stress, balancing hormones, helping with digestion, detoxification, boosting energy levels, skin and hair health and many, many more.
As a result, they are the perfect multi-faceted ingredients for flavouring our natural oral care products, providing us withpure, whole flavours for our Natural Toothpastes, Oil Pulling Mouthwash, Toothsoap and Natural Flosses.
