Three Ways to Maintain Your Wellbeing At Home

As we enter this period of social distancing and uncertainty, we thought we would share 3 of our top Wellbeing-at-Home tips! We’d also like to take a moment to praise all the incredible key-workers, including our manufacturing staff who are working on reduced shifts and contact during this time. We hope that these tips help you feel engaged, connected and positive. Do you have any wellbeing tips that you’d like to share with us? Person doing Yoga at home

1. Make sure to move!

Let’s be honest. It’s very tempting to watch *just one* more episode of that new series you’ve been binge-watching but being stuck to the sofa will eventually take its toll. Even a small amount of exercise is enough to get your blood pumping and endorphins flowing – leading to you feeling happier and healthier.

There are plenty of home-workouts available for free on YouTube, and some PTs are even offering free live classes via Facebook or Instagram. Have you been too scared to try yoga out of fears your tree pose may be more weeping willow than strong oak? Now is the perfect opportunity to try, without worrying about who’s watching! (Although we do suggest shutting the curtains just in case!)

 2. Try something new.

Even if you’re working from home, it’s important to stay busy and keep your mind engaged. You could learn a language, learn to cook, or even make a start on writing that novel you’ve always dreamed of - we’ve even seen virtual choirs take place!

Are you running low on toothpaste? You could try making your own! Mix together 2 tbsp baking powder, 2 tbsp coconut oil and a few drops of essential oil (and add a tiny dash of turmeric for extra whitening power!) until they create a smooth paste, and use as normal.

 3. Plan ahead.

Although this time can feel like it may last forever, it won’t. Planning for the future is a great way to keep your mind occupied and to increase feelings of positivity and hope. Why not create some inspiration boards of things you’d like to do once things are a little more normal? Or research them via Podcasts and E-Books! Our marketing team like to stay cheerful by sharing what they’re looking forward to with each other. Ali is using this time to create the ultimate wedding Pinterest board as she’s getting married next year; Tom is looking forward to seeing his girlfriend – who is in Germany – and visiting a log cabin in Wales; and Ben is planning some new tattoos, as well as looking forward to visiting friends in America.
